Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has inaugurated Bulbula Integrated Agro-Industry Park as the government continues to push efforts to modernize Ethiopia’s agricultural sector.

“Modernizing our agricultural capabilities is further enhanced through the development of agro industries,” said Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed during the inaugural ceremony of the Park, located in West Shoa of Oromia regional state.

“Our inauguration of the Bulbula Integrated Agro Industry Park is a demonstration of our Vision For Prosperity for the agriculture sector, for our farmers and our consumers,” Abiy added.

The East African nation has been developing Integrated Agro-Industrial Parks (IAIP) with a view to speed up its structural transformation into an industry-led economy.

Built on 271 hectares of land, the Park is one of Ethiopia’s public IAIPs that specializes in agro-processing and cost the country a total of 9bln birr.

Melaku Alebel, Minister of Trade and Industry, has described the park as unique as compared to other parks due to its location.

Circled by Lake Zeway, Abyata, and Lengano, its situated near to train transport, expressway, Addis Ababa City, and Mojo Dry Port.

The park also has better access to agricultural raw materials and will help farmers put their products on the market easily without complicated supply chains, he added.
