The head of the Sidama Regional Industry Bureau and Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Project, Ato Gosaye Godana, said during his opening speech that the laboratory that will be built by  financial support of AICS  will save time and energy wasted in the production process and increase the competitiveness park.

Mr. Gosaye said that encouraging results have been recorded due to works done for the success of the park & he added that this success is the result of the sum of each stakeholder’s effort.

He added that the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) will provide support for 3 years in food safety, quality and traceability, as well as environmental protection works.

The Regional OS-IAIP Project Coordinator Mr. Teshale Wonte, presented the Project’s 3-year plan and this year’s fiscal plan and discussion was held.

He pointed out that the project focuses on the participation of the private sector, enhancing competitiveness at all levels by ensuring food safety, quality and traceability, and ensuring social inclusiveness by enhancing activities of environmental protection.
